Chuvash Republic says ready to make materials for microelectronics
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Aug 2 (PRIME) -- The Chuvash Republic in central Russia is ready to provide the country with materials for microelectronics, the republic’s head Oleg Nikolayev said on Monday.
Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov visited local Haval plant, the only integrated plant in Russia and Europe that manufactures powerful photo-emissive converters and modules with a capacity of 350 MW per year.
The minister suggested creating a facility to equip the plant with raw materials to produce pure silicon for solar panels.
Nikolayev said that such materials are now produced only in Europe and China.
“Evidently, our industry found itself their hostage in conditions of the pandemic. This is why if we manage to substitute these elements v, we’ll facilitate life of many companies in the Russian Federation seriously. Besides, these products are of a wide range of use that can be scaled up.”
